ESLSCA University hosted an open day on campus, on Feb 16, 2025, introducing high school students to the diverse array of majors available at the university, according to the admissions department.

The open day was designed to give students the knowledge and push they need to make informed decisions about their future.

“This open day was for students to get a better understanding of what university life is like,” said Salma Negm, admissions advisor.

The event kicked off with an insightful presentation by Nadine Sakr, head of admissions, who outlined the different academic paths students can pursue at ESLSCA University.

She underlined the university’s dedication to providing the students with a variety of choices based on their interests and desired careers such as business, visual arts, computer science, and sports management.

After the presentation, students went on a guided tour of the university, which included classrooms, labs, and workspaces.

This tour allowed the students to have a closer look at the dynamic learning environment offered by ESLSCA University, where interactive teaching methods, variety of courses, and teamwork takes place.

One of the main highlights of the open day was the opportunity for students to interact with professors and current students at various booths representing different majors.

Many students took advantage of this opportunity, engaging in discussions about course content, career prospects, and student life.

“The thing I loved most about the open day was the booth of the School of Business. They were incredibly friendly and informative, which truly encouraged me to apply to the school,” said Hanan Osama, high school student.

Additionally, the open day included talks about ESLSCA’s incubator program, which helps entrepreneurial students turn their innovative ideas into reality.

“Our incubator program provides resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help students bring their innovative ideas to life,” explained Sakr.

The open day served as an opportunity for students to engage in interactive activities designed to showcase the university’s unique culture through open talks and booths. Many expressed their eagerness to apply and become part of the ESLSCA community.

“I really liked the community here and I can’t wait to apply and be a part of this amazing community,” said Mariam Youssef, high school student.

This is not the university’s first open day. ESLSCA has been hosting this event annually since 2019, aimed at recruiting new students.

“We are going to work on more open houses and hosting more events, allowing more people from different backgrounds to attend and see what the university is all about,” said Negm.

Navigating these new choices could be tricky and so the admissions team encourages students to focus on their long-term interests when selecting a major, rather than simply choosing based on current trends.

They also highlighted the importance of making well-informed decisions when selecting a major. While some fields may be booming now, it’s essential for students to consider their future careers and how their chosen path aligns with their personal aspirations after graduation.

“Students should focus on their long-term interests rather than simply choosing based on current trends,” said Negm.

The event was able to make things clearer for confused students, helping them further understand their undergraduate options.

“By the end of the event, students should be able to choose the right major and the right university and understand the full aspect of the university life, not just the community part but also the academic,” said Negm.
